Just came across Dieter Zirkler's blog on the upcoming version of project/project server/sql server solution where he discusses what may be coming up, and some of the feedback Microsoft has received from their MVPs.
Their enterprise solution definitely needs some work, but I think they're missing the boat on the whole concept of IT governance, a topic I was musing about a couple days ago. MS Project is a great standalone tool, but the focus with Project Server is way off. Their direction doesn't answer the fundamental problems with linking their technology into how organizations are managing their projects. It's not about the functionality, guys - its about the process, and managing visibility to the executive team.
Or maybe its just me.
