It’s always a mixed bag presenting on a PM/business analyst topic at a predominantly developer-focused event like DevConnections. I’m here in Orlando this week, before making my way out to Los Angeles for SharePoint Saturday Los Angeles (#SPSLA), presenting two sessions:
- Don’t Just Migrate – Transform Your SharePoint Environment
- SharePoint’s Social Computing Scorecard
My sessions are always heavy on best practices and real-world examples, light on demos. Why? To be honest, I find most in-session demos boring and less useful than talking about case studies and lessons learned. Unless it’s a hands on lab or a training course, I think of it as filler – especially for a PM-focused topic. So for me, no demos – just insights and my experience. We’ll see how these sessions go. Feedback has been very strong on the social media presentation since first giving it back at SPS East Bay with Mike Watson. I’ll share my post-session thoughts tomorrow and Wednesday.
And for those who are looking for their own CherPoint shirt, please come by one of my sessions. I’ll have a few on hand. This photo shows a couple of the guys from Rackspace holding up their limited-edition SharePint shirts. Sorry - I did not bring any of them for this event...
