June 2016 Event Plans

Gearing up for some travel later this month, as well as several online activities, I thought it was time to post an update with links and details. Like many of you, my kids are wrapping up the school year. My son Nick has his high school graduation ceremonies tonight in Redmond, WA. So proud of him — he was recognized for his excellent PSAT scores, as well as completing numerous AP classes this year, scoring mostly 5's, with a couple 4's, and has an assortment of cords for his academic achievements. Pictures will be posted. And my youngest is in football training camp for the next couple weeks, looking forward to finishing off his sophomore year at the end of next week.

Ok, as far as upcoming events, here is what I have coming up:

  • [Webcast] CollabTalk: The Show
Tuesday, June 14th at 10am PDT
The most entertaining SharePoint and Office 365 web show on the planet! In our next webisode, we'll continue the discussion on the Future of SharePoint event (because one hour last month was not enough), as well as delve into Project Madeira, discuss the latest in Power BI, and talk about what is happening in the world of the Citizen Developer with GigJam, PowerApps, and Flow. This webisode we will be joined by fellow MVP and Bifocal co-host John White, who will attempt to grow a beard so that we can stay true to our logo. Once registered, we will spam you relentlessly every month as we offer additional webisodes (just kidding, sort of)

  • [Webinar] Beezy Public Demo webinars
Wednesday, June 15th. Register for 7am PDT (here) or 10am PDT (here)

If you have not yet seen the award-winning Beezy solution and want to better understand how we can make your SharePoint environment more functional and user-friendly, come take a look at our monthly public demo. I'll be leading both sessions which highlight the out-of-the-box Beezy 3 release.

  • [Webinar] Measuring the Impact of SharePoint 2016 and SharePoint Online
with Mark Kashman, senior product manager at Microsoft
Thursday, June 16th at 10am PDT

As you are probably well aware if you follow my blog, I launched an initiative earlier this year called "Measuring Collaboration Success" or #MeasureCollabSuccess and wrapped up the first of three surveys this past month. Mark is on our panel of 22 MVPs and community experts, and will be joining me on the virtual stage this next week as we share some of the survey results and talk decipher their meaning — looking at this data on how organizations define "collaboration success" through the lens of the recent Future of SharePoint announcements. Conversations with Mark are always fun and informative, so don't miss it!

  • [Webcast] UnityConnect Online
"Now that SharePoint Is Deployed, How Do I Measure Success?"
Monday, June 20th at 9am PDT

Sharing some of the results from the #MeasureCollabSuccess community survey, this session will talk about the gap between deploying SharePoint – and showing measurable business value. Join Christian Buckley, MVP and CMO of Beezy, as he walks through some key takeaways from the survey data, and shares a few insights on how organizations can begin thinking about improving their collaboration success measurements.

  • CollabTalk tweetjam
"The Rise of the Citizen Developer"
Friday, June 24th at 9am PDT

There is much happening in the world of the power user and "citizen developer" beyond SPDesigner and InfoPath. After demonstrating cool new capabilities at WPC a year ago, GigJam is now in public preview. Likewise, PowerApps and Flow are garnering interest across the community. This monthly Twitter-based discussion will look at these technologies and discuss the evolution of the empowered IT worker. Join the discussion at Twubs.com/CollabTalk or follow along on Twitter using #CollabTalk

  • SPTechCon
    June 27-30, Boston

Looking forward to heading back to this great event, where I'll be manning the booth with Doug Johnson, presenting a couple sessions (Productivity Hacking for Team Collaboration, and The 10 Best Office 365 Features You've Never Used, But Should) as well as participating on the panel during "Stump The Experts." With Beezy as a Gold sponsor, I will once again also share the results of my "ongoing deep, deep research" into the theories behind the theories of collaboration during the Lightning Talks, so be sure to attend.

  • Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference
    July 10-14, Toronto

While not a technical or marketing event, the Beezy team will be attending, and as part of the WPC Social Squad, I may be presenting once again. In fact, I'll be blogging a few times in the coming weeks about how you can find me and my team at the event, so keep an eye out.

And that's it for events, so far. Of course, there will be more CollabTalk webisodes this summer, and I plan to also schedule tweetjams throughout the summer, but I am also working on a couple new projects — and hope to be able to spend much more time creating videos. I've even thought about picking up the OneThing torch once again, creating videos alongside MVPs and experts as I travel around the world, highlighting what they think people need to know about Office 365.

Moe to come! Keep watching this space…
