#MsftBuzzChat with Mark Kashman
In Episode 4 of this Microsoft employee-focused interview series, I was able to sit down and chat with Mark Kashman (@mkashman), a Senior Product Manager on the Microsoft 365 team focused on SharePoint and OneDrive, and a co-host of the very popular podcast #TheIntrazone.
During this episode, Mark and I discuss his career pathway onto the SharePoint team, his role expansion into OneDrive and, more recently, picking up many of the admin, hybrid, and migration components left in the wake of the most recent organizational shifts, including Bill Baer‘s departure from the SharePoint team. If you missed that news, Bill has moved over to AI and Search. I’ve known Bill since we were peers in Microsoft Managed Services (MMS) back in early 2006, and it will be weird not having him front-and-center for all-things SharePoint on-prem, admin, migration, and hybrid. Mark takes ownership of some of that, while other pieces roll up to the admin console team as they integrate many of these capabilities up to the tenant-level and across workloads.
In our discussion, Mark also shares some stories from the very successful and growing podcast, The Intrazone (https://aka.ms/theintrazone), which he co-hosts with Chris McNulty twice a month, with a 3rd “new features/releases” episode monthly (yes folks, that’s 3 times per month). This video release follows our participation in SharePointFest Seattle, where Mark and I co-presented a session “Options for Building a Modern Extranet” that touched on the various external sharing capabilities within Microsoft 365, as well as some partner solutions. That was also the topic of discussion on a forthcoming episode of The Intrazone, where I sat down with Chris and Mark to discuss the evolution of external sharing. Looking forward to seeing that interview live, and I’ll definitely share a link when it’s available.
